Yeabu London Pharmaceutical SL Limited Unveils New Facelift, Expanding Access to Quality Medicines in Northern Sierra Leone

Magburaka, Tonkolili District Yeabu London Pharmaceutical SL Limited has officially unveiled a newly renovated and upgraded pharmacy facility in Magburaka, marking a significant milestone in the improvement of healthcare delivery across Tonkolili District and the wider Northern Region.

The facelift, which includes upgraded storage systems, improved customer service areas, and enhanced drug-handling standards, comes alongside the importation of essential and specialised medicines from the United Kingdom. The facility now stocks a wider range of drugs for the treatment of multiple and complex illnesses commonly affecting African communities, including chronic and multi-treatable conditions.

At the centre of this transformation is the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Momoh Deen Conteh, whose vision has been to bridge the gap between global pharmaceutical standards and local healthcare needs. According to health workers and community members, the upgraded pharmacy has improved access to quality-assured medications that were previously scarce or unavailable in the district.

Beyond infrastructure, the expansion has created new employment opportunities for pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and support staff contributing to local economic growth while strengthening the healthcare workforce. Residents say the improved availability of reliable medicines has reduced the need for patients to travel long distances to regional capitals in search of treatment.

Health practitioners in Magburaka describe the development as a boost to public confidence in local healthcare services. With improved drug supply chains and better-equipped facilities, patients are now receiving timely treatment for a range of illnesses, leading to better health outcomes and continuity of care.

Mr. Conteh noted that the renovation and expansion form part of a broader commitment to health system strengthening, not only in Magburaka and Tonkolili District, but across the Northern Region. He emphasized the importance of ethical pharmaceutical practices, quality control, and community-centred service delivery in advancing public health.

As Sierra Leone continues to grapple with access to affordable and effective healthcare, the renewed Yeabu London Pharmaceutical SL Limited stands as an example of how private sector investment can complement public health efforts, improving lives, creating jobs, and bringing quality healthcare closer to the people.
